Mason's Mason Hatfield voted Standard-Times Athlete of the Week

As the softball and baseball seasons near the state tournament, and other spring high school sports wind down, plenty of West Texas high school athletes had outstanding performances last week and were nominated for final Standard-Times Athlete of the Week this year.

This week, Mason's Mason Hatfield was voted Standard-Times Athlete of the Week after receiving 9,192 votes which was 44.21% of the total votes cast.

Hatfield won the Class 2A boys singles state championship for the second year, winning the final match 6-4, 6-0.

What's next?

The Standard-Times held weekly Athlete of the Week polls throughout the high school sports season, and with the conclusion of the school year, the Standard-Times will run a series of polls to determine the Standard-Times Athlete of the Year starting next week.

Each Standard-Times Athlete of the Week winner will be placed in the poll for the community to vote on and decide who the Standard-Times Athlete of the Year was for the 2023-24 school year.

Do not send votes through email as they will not be accepted.
