Miles boys basketball's Cooper Ellison voted Standard-Times Athlete of the Week

The West Texas basketball playoff picture is starting to take shape as boys and girls teams continue through their district schedules, while the soccer season is ramping up for some of the bigger schools.

Despite the cold and rainy weather, many athletes across West Texas had outstanding performances and were nominated for this week's Standard-Times Athlete of The Week award.

This week, Miles boys basketball's Cooper Ellison was voted Standard-Times Athlete of the Week after receiving 28,895 votes, which was 35.85% of the total votes cast.

Ellison had 26 points, nine rebounds and three steals in a win over Colorado City last week.
