Sports scores, stats for Monday: Case softball earns comeback win over Somerset Berkley

FALL RIVER— The first day of the final week of the spring regular season was jam-packed with Greater Fall River area high school sports action.

Here's a look at all of the scores, stats and highlights from Monday.

Baseball: Atlantis Charter vs. Bishop Connolly

SCORE: Bishop Connolly 5, Atlantis Charter 1

LOCATION: Atlantis Charter School

RECORDS: AC- 7-6 (6-3 Mayflower Athletic Conference); BC- 11-5 (3-4 MAC)

HIGHLIGHTS: For the Cougars, Jaydyn Pavao led the way at the plate going two-for-three while Nate Rezendes had an RBI. On the mound, Connor Travis earned the win going four innings allowing a run on three hits while Jayden Souza earned the save in relief going the remaining three innings allowing one hit.

Baseball: Case vs. Somerset Berkley

HIGHLIGHTS: For the Cardinals, Adam Gracie led the way with a run and RBI while Ben Duquette had a single and run and Jacob Poitras, Lucas Saltmarsh and Joel Mello all singled.

Softball: Case at Somerset Berkley

SCORE: Case 5, Somerset Berkley 4

LOCATION: Somerset Berkley Regional High School

RECORDS: JC- 18-0 (11-1 SCC); SB- 12-6 (9-5 SCC)

HIGHLIGHTS: For the Cardinals, Megan Smith led the way at the plate going three-for-four while Olivia Silva went two-for-three with a walk and a double, Skye Dupre hit the go-ahead RBI double in the top of the seventh to score Bree Fontes and Brooke Orton and Jamie Moniz each had a hit. Hailey Berube earned the win in the circle going all game giving up four runs on 12 hits. For the Raiders, Tatum Swanson was credited with the loss after going six and a third innings giving up three earned runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out one and led the way at the plate going three-for-four with two runs. Gabriella Nugent went three-for-three with an intentional walk, Mackeznie Jacob went two-for-four with an RBI, Jordan Theriault went one-for-four with a two run home run, Emma Javier went one-for-three, Cali Ledger went one-for-four with an RBI, Julia Costa went one-for-four and Sydney Bednarz scored a run.

Boys Tennis: Case at Westport

SCORE: Westport 5, Case 0

RECORDS: JC- 4-12 (3-9 SCC); WMHS- 7-6 (3-3 MAC)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats' Sam Van Saun beat the Cardinals' Owen Borges in a third set tiebreaker in first singles as Westport swept Case to earn a tournament spot with Brody Girard winning second singles, Jack Keane winning third singles, the duo of Nick DosVais and Luke Coelho winning first doubles and the duo of Fotis Machairas and Luke Santos winning second doubles.

Girls Tennis: Case vs. Westport

SCORE: Westport 3, Case 2

LOCATION: Veterans Memorial Park

HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats swept singles with Kaelyn Jones winning first singles 6-0, 6-1, Mikhaela Rego winning second singles 4-6, 6-0, 11-9 and Taliyah Raiche winning third singles 6-1, 6-2 while the Cardinals took both doubles matches.
