From the days of Cheryl Tiegs to Christie Brinkley to Kathy Ireland to all the newsstands in between, landing on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition has always been a rare achievement in the modeling world. It’s turned unknowns into household names, launched entertainment careers, and created business moguls and beyond.

While the issue has progressed in recent years to include famous faces outside the modeling industry, it still holds an iconic place in pop-culture lore. And that certainly holds true for the past two-plus decades…
