Here are your Southwest Missouri high school football power rankings after Week 9

Our high school football power rankings following the ninth week of the 2023 regular season are here.

News-Leader reporter Wyatt Wheeler ranked more than 50 teams in southwest Missouri before cutting the list down to 25. The following five teams who barely missed the cut will be listed alphabetically as teams that are on the outside looking in.

Among the considered factors in the rankings:

  • Watching the teams play

  • Previous rankings

  • Previous results

  • Season success

  • Conversations

Note that rankings don't necessarily mean a Class 1 team ranked higher than a Class 6 team would beat them head-to-head, but the rankings show dominance by class.

Here are the rankings after the ninth week of the year. These are our final power rankings until we rank each team in the area once the area's postseason concludes.
