MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Southern Miss baseball, with a win Sunday, can make it 2-for-2 in Sun Belt Conference tournament championships since joining the league.
The No. 2 seed Golden Eagles (40-18) are perfect through this season's tournament, first beating Coastal Carolina, then Troy and Appalachian State on Saturday. No. 5 Georgia Southern, Southern Miss' championship game opponent, has also gone perfect with two wins against James Madison and another against Old Dominion.

Georgia Southern (33-25) and Southern Miss played each other earlier this season in a three-game series in Statesboro, Georgia. The Eagles took two of three games from the Golden Eagles, including a run-rule victory in one game. They boast one All-Sun Belt player in infielder Josh Tate, who bats .377 this season.
