South Carolina upsets No. 5 Tennessee

No. 5 Tennessee (9-2, 4-2 SEC) lost at South Carolina (7-4, 4-4 SEC), 63-38, Saturday.

The Gamecocks scored on nine of its 10 possessions. Tennessee surrendered the most points in a game in the modern era, dating back to 1937.

South Carolina never trailed in the contest.

Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker left the game due to injury in the fourth quarter.

He completed 25-of-42 passing attempts for 247 yards and three touchdowns.

Gamecocks’ quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 30-of-37 passing attempts for 438 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Cedric Tillman, who missed the Vols’ recent victory against Missouri, recorded nine receptions, 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Bru McCoy and Princeton Fant each recorded touchdown receptions for Tennessee.

Jabari Small was Tennessee’s leading rusher, totaling 80 yards and one touchdown on 11 attempts.

Joe Milton III relieved Hooker and recorded 108 passing yards and one touchdown.
