South Carolina high school football media poll and where Upstate teams landed after Week 1

There are a couple of new No. 1 teams in this week’s high school football rankings by South Carolina media members.

South Florence took over the Class AAAA top spot from Greenville, which dropped to No. 5 after a 28-17 loss to T.L. Hanna. Lewisville went from third to first in Class A, leaping Christ Church Episcopal despite the Cavaliers getting 13 first-place votes, as former No. 1 Bamberg-Ehrhardt slipped to seventh.

Chapman rose five spots in AAA after pulling an upset of Byrnes, which slipped from No. 2 to No. 9 in AAAAA. Belton-Honea Path dropped one spot in AAA even after knocking off Westside, which is no longer ranked.

Here are the latest rankings with Upstate teams in bold.
