South Carolina baseball enters the SEC tournament looking to erase a six-game losing streak after two series sweeps.
The Gamecocks (33-21) are the No. 10 seed and face No. 7 seed Alabama (33-21) at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium on Tuesday (2:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network) in an elimination game.
Until May 15, the Gamecocks were projected to host an NCAA regional. After getting swept by Tennessee to close the regular season, South Carolina is the No. 3 seed in the Clemson regional according to D1 Baseball's projections from May 20.
In March, the Gamecocks lost their series to the Crimson Tide. The Gamecocks came back from a 4-0 early deficit to win 9-8 in the final game.
The Gamecocks are 30-53 in the SEC Tournament and the last time the Gamecocks won the SEC tournament was in 2004.
The winner of Tuesday's game will play No. 2 seed Arkansas on Wednesday (2 p.m., SEC Network) when the tournament moves to a double-elimination bracket.
