Who are the Somerset County boys soccer players to watch in 2023?
Two Somerset County boys soccer teams earned District 5 runner-up finishes a year ago. Rockwood went 16-3-2 and fell in the District 5-1A championship, while Somerset finished 14-3-3, dropping a shootout heartbreaker to Bedford in the 2A title game.
Conemaugh Township, Berlin Brothersvalley and North Star were all playoff teams. Expectations will be high once again for some programs.

Isaiah Armstrong, Somerset, jr.
Armstrong netted five goals and chipped in two assists a year ago.
Davis Bruening, Rockwood, jr.
Bruening finished second on the Rockets with 19 goals last season. He chipped in five assists.

Bryson Costa, Windber, sr.
Costa made 165 saves and had three shutout victories last year.
Dylan Giffin, Conemaugh Township, sr.
Giffin paced Conemaugh Township with 20 goals and 11 assists a season ago.

Jacob Hill, Windber, jr.
Hill led the Ramblers with seven goals last season. He added three assists.
Cole Hostetter, Rockwood, sr.
Hostetter netted six goals to go along with four assists a year ago.
Max Malicki, Conemaugh Township, sr.
Malicki finished second on the team with eight assists a season ago. He also chipped in four goals.
Connor Montgomery, Berlin Brothersvalley, jr.
Montgomery notched 11 goals to lead the Mountaineers last season. He added two assists. Montgomery also shared keeper duties.
Derek Prince, Windber, so.
Prince paced the Ramblers with eight assists in his first varsity season. He also contributed three goals.
Parker Scherer, North Star, jr.
Scherer finished second on the Cougars with seven goals a year ago. He led the team with 14 assists.
Logan Seslow, Somerset, sr.
Seslow delivered five goals and contributed three assists last season.
Jackson Sotosky, Conemaugh Township, jr.
Sotosky racked up 18 goals to finish second on the team a year ago. He added five assists.
Cayden Thompson, Windber, sr.
Thompson recorded five goals and four assists last season for the Ramblers.
Max Trimpey, Rockwood, jr.
Trimpey netted 12 goals and finished third on the Rockets last year. He also provided five assists.
Tanner Wassilchalk, Somerset, sr.
Wassilchalk provided seven goals and six assists for the Golden Eagles a year ago.
Ben Witt, Somerset, sr.
Witt is a major contributor defensively, but he also tallied five goals last season.
