Social media reacts to unbelievable performance by C.J. Stroud

In case you missed what went down on the NFL gridiron on Sunday, let us give you the CliffsNotes version. The legend of Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud helped his legend grow by having one whale of a day against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

All the former Ohio State standout did was break the single-game rookie passing yards record by slinging the ball for 470 yards. He tied the rookie one-game touchdown record by tossing five. And he snatched victory from defeat by engineering a six-play, 70-yard touchdown drive in 40 seconds to lift Houston to a 39-37 win.

It quite literally was a performance the entire league was talking about and almost left the CBS broadcast desk speechless afterwards.

But that wasn’t the case with social media. Reaction poured in from all corners on what Stroud did on Sunday and we have some of the best of them that we founds on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Here’s a look at some of those in Ohio State corners and elsewhere that heaped praise and disbelief at what Stroud pulled off on Sunday.

He was cookin'

Oh to have a Mulligan on the draft ...

Took the words out of my mouth -- er off the keyboard

This guy knows what kind of talent Stroud is

The King noticed

Pre-draft criticism? Pffft ...

Another former teammate and catcher of Stroud's passes recognizing the feat

Actually, 40 seconds would have been enough

Can we interest you in a passing chart?

Yes, which part?

The CBS crew was in disbelief

Makes sense

Um, yes please

To be fair, he did more than that

Ridiculous.

The fact that the question is already being asked says a a lot

And this was just one example

THE reaction from THE Ohio State

We can get on board with this

I mean, it's still early in a career, but clearly he can get it done

Stroud made a lot of fantasy owners very happy on Sunday

True
