Social media reacts as Hawkeyes trounce Fairleigh Dickinson to open 2023-24 season

What a perfect start to the season for the Iowa Hawkeyes! No fuss, no worrying. Iowa took care of business, defeating Fairleigh Dickinson, 102-46.

That’s right, this one wasn’t close at all.

It felt good to watch an Iowa team look good on offense again. Senior Caitlin Clark led the Hawkeyes with 28 points, including 4-of-9 shooting from 3-point range. She collected her first double-double of the season as well, dishing out 10 assists. It wasn’t just the fantastic point guard for the Hawkeyes, though.

Hannah Stuelke looked like a sophomore star in the making with 22 points and nine rebounds. In case you were still concerned about the Hawkeyes’ interior, redshirt junior Shannon Goodman scored 19 as well.

The Hawkeyes looked like the top-five team in the nation that they are, and that’s great to see. Don’t ever take these type of games for granted. Enjoy every minute of watching Caitlin Clark play ball in Carver. Here are the top social media reactions from the Hawkeyes’ opening night win!
