Social Media Reacts: Baker Mayfield becomes a part of NFL history in Buccaneers win
Lambeau Field is one of the most historic stadiums in all of sports. Since 1957, it has played host to a number of legends.
But former Oklahoma Sooner Baker Mayfield did something NFL quarterback greats Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or Joe Montana never accomplished. No visiting quarterback had ever recorded a perfect 158.3 passer rating at Lambeau Field.
The only other time a perfect passer rating has been accomplished in Green Bay was by former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. On Sunday, Mayfield looked like a former Heisman winner going 22 of 28 for 381 yards and four touchdowns.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers stayed on top of the NFC South division and continue to control their path to a playoff berth with a 34-20 win over the Green Bay Packers. They have three games left to finish their season.
The Bucs are tied with the New Orleans Saints for first place but hold the tiebreaker. The two will face off in two weeks probably for the lead in the division.
Mayfield has put together a solid season and given the Bucs a reason to believe he could be their guy moving forward. He has completed 63.5% of his passes for 3,315 yards, 24 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. He’s on pace to set career highs in both touchdown passes and yards while leading a team many thought would vie for the first pick in the draft.
Here are some of the best social media reactions from Mayfield’s historic performance.
History in the Making
My goodness.

Comeback Player of the Year? We think so, too.
I don’t know if people will consider him for it but Baker Mayfield should be the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

Carving out a nice career
Baker Mayfield taking Green Bay to the woodshed lmao. On the road too. His longevity in the league is becoming very impressive.

Built Different
Baker Mayfield escapes a horse collar tackle, then complains about the lack of call. ref says it wasn't a tackle, so no flag. Baker explains it's only no tackle because he's so strong (illustrated by flexing) and moves on.

Historic Day
Baker Mayfield is the first visitor with 300 pass yards and three passing touchdowns at Lambeau Field since Matthew Stafford on Nov. 28, 2021. He's the first Buccaneers player to do it in their 22 trips to Lambeau.

Making it Work
Baker Mayfield completed 20 of 24 passes against zone coverage for 361 yards & 3 TD in the Buccaneers 34-20 victory over the Packers.
Mayfield threw a TD pass to all four levels of the field for the third time in his career, the most by any QB since 2016.#TBvsGB | #GoBucs pic.twitter.com/OpmeWv4ThM

Even the Pokes Putting Respect on Baker's name
As an OSU fan, Baker Mayfield may have been the most unfairly treated QB in recent history. He is EASILY a starter in the NFL.

Baker making Skip look correct
How bout that Baker Mayfield, throwing for 381 and 4 TDs without an interception at Lambeau as the Bucs maintained their division lead with a 34-20 win. I've defended him for years. Look at him now.
