How Mike Greenberg, Pat McAfee and more on social media are reacting to news that Aaron Rodgers is out for season with Achilles injury
Aaron Rodgers going down with an injury on Monday in his first game with the New York Jets sent shockwaves through the NFL.
Now, it's been confirmed what the Jets feared last night: Rodgers has a torn Achilles and is out for the season, according to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter.
Rodgers was brought in to New York after an 18-year career with the Green Bay Packers as the missing piece for a Jets team thinking big.
But now one of the game's biggest stars is done for the season with his new team after just four plays. Could his career be as well?
Here's some instant reaction to the news of Rodgers' prognosis became official:

After months of buildup, trade speculation, trade demands, hype, freaking Hard Knocks, Aaron Rodgers never even completed a pass for the New York Jets. Let that sink in. Not one completion. As gut-punching of an injury as you can imagine for a team.

Aaron Rodgers’ torn Achilles might be the most devastating injury to a team and fan base in NFL history. There never has been a player who received more off-season hype, who raised another team’s expectations more, who had his season end 4 plays in without ever completing a pass.
