Social media active with opinions on Camden vs. Manasquan basketball situation
Since Tuesday night, it's all anyone has talked about.
Who should have won Tuesday night's Group 2 semifinal between Manasquan and Camden.
Manasquan looked like it pulled off a massive upset after Griffin Linstra scored on a putback as time was expiring. Originally called good, the referees huddled at midcourt before waving the basket off and declaring Camden the winners.

Dick Vitale sided with Manasquan.
If there ever has been a game that should have the result overturned this the one . Clearly no debate MANASQUAN HS IN NJ should be playing for the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! https://t.co/VAJial7ke4

Former Camden guard DJ Wagner didn't offer an opinion on the shot, but was very happy with the end result.
I asked Kentucky guard DJ Wagner (Camden alum) if he saw the end of Camden’s win over Manasquan on Tuesday night.
“Yeah I watched it.”
“I was happy. We won the game. That’s all I can say.” https://t.co/qJHyEqkbVD pic.twitter.com/hu3Ve79yob— Jacob Polacheck (@PolacheckKSR) March 7, 2024
Others just went after the NJSIAA for butchering the entire process.
The NJSIAA has long been an incompetent clown organization - sadly that hasn’t and won’t change. Manasquan got screwed period stop. Can’t ask Camden not to play for the state title but it would be cool if they could or would. pic.twitter.com/4TJ7eeFcv9

But it didn't look like anything was going to change.
The NJ Commissioner of Education has denied our appeal of the @NJSIAA's decision. pic.twitter.com/RGHD4WCh0M

While most sided with Manasquan, nobody blamed Camden.
The team with the most points wins 100% of the time , except when the @NJSIAA is involved. They need to do the RIGHT thing and overturn this call.
Manasquan won the game.
Camden lost the game.
Both deserve recognition for a great game, but only one deserves to advance https://t.co/h3ZN6lLM8z— Full Court Press (@HoopsFcp) March 8, 2024
Manasquan has tried many different avenues to have the result changed. They're rapidly running out of time. As it stands now, Camden will play in the state championship tomorrow against Newark Arts.
