Soccer Recap: Coldwater and Quincy open season with, Bronson starts 0-2

LANSING – The Dominic Falzarano coaching era of Coldwater girls' soccer kicked off with a bang on Thursday, as the Cardinals took a dominating road win over Lansing Waverly by the score of 3-1.

This is Falzarano’s first season as head coach of the Coldwater girls' program and things went well from the start for the new coach as the Cardinals controlled the pace on both ends of the pitch.

Katie O’Dell netted two goals for Coldwater while senior Cara Miller also drove home a goal for Coldwater’s 3-1 win.

Hannah Stevens and Lily Bockheim each had an assist in the victory while goalkeeper Isabella Pool made four saves to net the win.

Coldwater is now 1-0 on the season.

Bronson soccer kicks off season at 0-2

BRONSON – The Bronson Viking girls soccer team started off the 2024 season at 0-2 after two tough losses for the scrappy Vikings in the first week of play.

To open the year Bronson dropped a heartbreaker to Springport Tuesday by the score of 6-3.

The game entered the half tied at 3-3, however Springport took control and netted three second half goals to pull away for the win.

Journey Smith, Jayna Seekman, and Ana Marin all scored for Bronson in their season opener.

On Thursday night the Vikings ran into a buzzsaw, falling to Pennfield by the score of 8-0.

Quincy opens season with win

GRASS LAKE – The Quincy Oriole girls soccer team kicked off the new year with a win over Grass Lake on Tuesday, winning by the score of 3-1.

No stats were made available for the victory.
