Sixers’ Joel Embiid picked to play for Team LeBron in 2023 All-Star game

The 2023 All-Star game is here from Salt Lake City, and the two team captains, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, picked their teams playground style shortly before the game tipped off in Vivint Arena.

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, playing in his sixth straight All-Star game, was picked by James, and he will play for Team LeBron on Sunday night. The big fella will be a starter as an injury replacement after averaging 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 45 games thus far before the break.

Embiid will be in the starting lineup with James, the new Dallas Mavericks star duo Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, and Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic. Team LeBron has a strong starting lineup and is looking to earn the win in the midseason classic.

Tipoff from the Vivint Arena is set for 8:30 p.m. EST as the festivities wrap up in Salt Lake City.
