Sixers have asked James Harden not to travel with team to begin season

The Philadelphia 76ers had James Harden return to practice on Wednesday as the team prepares to open the season on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. With Harden returning to practice, there is a school of thought that maybe he would travel and be with the team.

It would make sense if he did. Harden has been a good teammate through all of this and he has drawn praise for his professionalism despite his obvious frustration.

However, the Sixers will ask Harden not to travel with them when they open the season first in Milwaukee and when they face the Toronto Raptors on the road.

Without Harden, the Sixers will look to Tyrese Maxey, De’Anthony Melton, Tobias Harris, and others to step up in his place next to Joel Embiid. Philadelphia has the talent to be successful without The Beard so this is a move that is not too surprising when considering everything going on.
