Friday, Sept. 29

Jackson Memorial 33, Brick Township 13: Sophomore running back Jonah Glenn had touchdown runs of 58, 5, 10 and 33 to lead the Jaguars to the win. Albert D'Alessandro also scored for Jackson Memorial.

Matawan 47, Pinelands 12: Junior quarterback Am'ir Martinez ran for 154 yards and two TDs in the first half for Matawan.

Howell 30, Manalapan 27: The Braves trailed by 10 late in the game, and after scoring to cut it to a three-point game and getting the ball back with under a minute to go, Howell picked off a pass to seal the win.

Red Bank 19, Monmouth 0: Alex Choback threw a 35-yard TD pass to Liam Stack and scored on a 1-yard QB sneak, and Quinn Niesz returned an interception 28 yards for a score as the Bucs picked up their first win of the season and their first shutout since Oct. 9, 2020.

Holmdel 31, Freehold Borough 0: Holmdel's defense held strong again, shutting out their opponent for the third straight game. Matt Iulo scored two touchdowns and Anthony Setteducate added another, all rushing. Connor Fields returned an interception for a score.

Middletown South 30, Colts Neck 14: Jake Czwakiel was a one-man show, running for a touchdown, returning an interception for a touchdown and kicking a field goal for the winners. Donovan Summey also rushed for a score and Colin Galagher returned a fumble for another TD.

Nonconference

Keansburg 27, Haddon Township 7: Junior quarterback James Valle threw a pair of touchdowns, one to Jahzier Wynn, another to Dominic Terraciano and Kevin Perez drilled a pair of field goals in the win.

Keyport 39, Gateway 6: Nazir Treadwell ran for three touchdowns and threw for another, and sophomore running back Mekai Henderson ran for a score.

Saturday, Sept. 30

Point Pleasant Borough 42, Rumson-Fair Haven 28: Jake Croce ran for two second half TDs and Matt Oliphant ran for a TD and threw three TD passes to three different receivers.

Toms River North 42, Southern 6: The No. 3 Mariners are 2-0 since having a 17-game winning streak snapped in Week 3.

Lacey 28, Central 0: The Lions racked up 175 rushing yards with freshman Joey Davis going off for 72 yards senior Joey Preston adding 65, with each of the backs scoring a touchdown.

Long Branch 20, St. John Vianney 14: Vianney rallied to make it a one-score game on Abdul Toray's touchdown run and Mike McCormack's PAT with 4:09 left but the Green Wave held the rest of the way.

Toms River South 35, Jackson Liberty 13: Junior running back James Henehan ran for two TDs and senior quarterback James Alexander threw two TD passes to Connor Greitz as Toms River South (4-1) defeated the Lions (2-3). Toms River South has won four straight for the first time since 2013.

Toms River East 41, Lakewood 12: The Raiders scored three of their touchdowns with junior quarterback Anthony Demarco at the helm and senior QB Brandon Peins rushed for the other two scores.

Shore 35, Manchester 14: The Blue Devils won their fourth straight. Manchester's Josh Love ran for 107 and has topped the 100 mark in all six of his games.

Ocean 14, Raritan 7: The Spartans bounced back after incurring shutout losses in their last two games.

Marlboro 28, Freehold Township 14: Matt Cassidy ran for 208 yards and two touchdowns, including a touchdown that swung Marlboro to the lead from a 7-6 deficit, added a pick six TD and made six tackles including a sack as the Mustangs pushed their record to 5-0. Nick Scaff added six tackles.

Nonconference

Red Bank Catholic 21, Seton Hall Prep 16: The Caseys (4-1), ranked No. 1 in the Asbury Park Press Top 20 and in the No. 3 USA TODAY NETWORK New Jersey Non-Public Top 10, rallied from a nine-point third quarter deficit to defeat the Pirates (1-4) and avenge a defeat from last season. Junior quarterback Frankie Williams scored the winning TD on a 3-yard run with 4:33 left. Senior wide receiver/defensive back Emanuel Ross pulled the Caseys within 16-14 with a 96-yard kickoff return for a TD in the third quarter. Jamie Gutridge had scored the game's first touchdown on a 2-yard run with 6:49 left in the first quarter.

St. Joseph (Montvale) 52, Donovan Catholic 28: Host St. Joseph, averaging 38.6 points a game entering the contest, turned it on after falling behind 14-0. Najee Calhoun scored on runs of 2 and 9 yards in the first quarter to stake the Griffins to the lead. St. Joseph is No. 2 in the USA TODAY NETWORK New Jersey Non-Public Top 10 and Donovan Catholic is No. 4. Calhoun ran for 134 yards and four TDs on 29 carries. St. Joseph (Montvale) senior quarterback Patrick Grusser ran for three TDs and threw for another.
