Your take: Should the Arizona Diamondbacks trade for Shohei Ohtani?
I voted no.
I don't know if Arizona has the players/prospects needed to get the Angels' attention.— BigMac1212 (@LeeLeeBug1212) July 20, 2023
They do. Lawler, Drew Jones, etc. Even pitching prospects. Issue is Dodgers/Yankees/Red Sox money looming for potential $600M 10-year deal. Dbacks won't pay that. Other argument is that Dbacks have best chance now to win. Does Shohei bring AZ another WS title? Who knows.

Only if he is not a rental.
Truth is, if traded for him, it would just be for THIS season, because no way could we afford him when his contract is up.— Ryan_602 (@602Ryan) July 21, 2023
Yes, if it's those only mentioned in the deal.
— Greg (@Greg27225552592) July 25, 2023
Only stupid team will trade for a 2 month rentals....give us on ur top prospects
— Ming kwong (@aliens007) July 20, 2023
No no no…
Not for a three month rental— Jordan Cuda (@J_Cuda90) July 20, 2023
If we trade all that for Ohtani i just know we’ll regret this in 5 years when we lose all those prospects + Ohtani to another West Coast team.
— David Garcia Jr ⚾️ (@Freight_Train6) July 20, 2023
We will regret in three months…
When he becomes a FA and signs with the…
Dodgers or Padres!
And our farm system is bleak.— Jordan Cuda (@J_Cuda90) July 20, 2023
If we afford his price tag we could talk but we can’t even afford a quarter of what he’s about to get paid
— David Garcia Jr ⚾️ (@Freight_Train6) July 20, 2023
His potential contract would be close to 1/3 of what the Dbacks franchise is worth…
Insane.— Jordan Cuda (@J_Cuda90) July 20, 2023
It fill the need of a bat / pitcher tho!
Both needs of the Dbacks…— Jordan Cuda (@J_Cuda90) July 20, 2023
They do not need to be giving up their prospects for him on a lease deal. No!
— Kyle (@galloeldo) July 21, 2023
Not all of our prospects are gonna turn out to be big stars. It might be worth trading a few to get Ohtani.
— Robert Merrill Riddle 🇺🇸 (@RobertRiddle_) July 25, 2023
i’m on board if we can retain him in FA and what the trade looks like
— Jacob Hagerty (@Jake_Hagert24) July 21, 2023
No trading Thomas, Lawlar, Jones, & Melendez. If they’d consider Fletcher, Blaze, Pfaadt/Walston/Jarvis, and Lin… I’d probably do that. Even for a rental. They’d make so much money. And of course have a good chance to win it all.

It's not happening I'm sorry

The diamondbacks have an interest in driving up the price on shohei ohtani, who may go to an in division rival. So yes, please keep publishing stuff like this. If the dodgers do get him, I hope they drain their system and can’t pick up any relievers.
— Steven Jackson (@STeVesNewsToday) July 21, 2023
Please make this happen. It would be epic.
— Desert Phoenix (@NJ06500337) July 22, 2023
Only possible if Matt Ishbia buys the Dbacks, and Ohtani can also play power forward
— Jeffrey A Agnew (@JeffreyAAgnew1) July 21, 2023
if the state of Arizona ends up getting Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Shohei Ohtani all within a 12 month period, I'm officially declaring the 2001 world series curse to be broken
