Shohei Ohtani press conference livestream: Watch Los Angeles Dodgers welcome two-way star

Shohei Ohtani, the latest player to join the Los Angeles Dodgers for a jaw-dropping $700 million, will be welcomed to the team in a Thursday press conference.

USA TODAY is providing live coverage of this event, which will begin at 6 p.m. ET. You can watch live at the video embed at the top of the page or on USA TODAY's YouTube channel.

After some time as a free agent, Ohtani announced the $700 million move to the Dodgers on Dec. 9, the record for North American pro sports contracts. It is thought to be the largest overall deal in global sports history.

Ohtani, a pitcher and designated hitter, is deferring $680 of his $700 million salary from the 10-year contract with the Dodgers, instead earning $2 million per year for 10 seasons before he receives the remaining compensation from 2034-2043.
