Shaye Seiber wins Southwestern All Comers race

Oct. 12—Southwestern senior Shaye Seiber won the Southwestern All Comers 5K girls' varsity race on Tuesday with a final time of 19:08.26. The Warriors came in second place as a team, with sophomore Olivia Huff coming in seventh with a time of 21:36.08 and senior Madeline Peterson coming in ninth with a time of 21:44.86.

Other finishers for the Warriors included eighth grader Shelby Lockard in 13th with a time of 23:04.87, junior Kaitlyn Williams in 24th and freshman Caroline Turner in 31st.

Pulaski County was led by sophomore Hannah Murray, who finished in eighth place with a time of 21:44.36. Other finishers for the Maroons included sophomore Gracie Burton in 15th with a time of 23:18.23 and freshman Hailey Slaven in 32nd.

Somerset Christian was led by freshman Hayden Webb in 16th place with a time of 23:24.53. Other finishers for the Cougars included eighth grader Averi Meadows in 18th with a time of 23:29.05, seventh grader Kendyl Meadows in 20th and freshman Mayah Edens in 22nd.

In the boys' varsity race, Southwestern finished in third place overall, led by senior Zabrey Bortz in seventh place with a time of 17:38.97 and sophomore Michael Seiber in 23rd with a time of 19:20:25. Other finishers for the Warriors included sophomore Jackson Couch in 26th with a time of 19:36.48, sophomore Tyler Phelps in 31st, freshman Hunter Troxtle in 32nd, sophomore Drew Kelly in 45th, junior Griffin Epperson in 48th, freshman Hayden Cummins in 51st and sophomore Bryce Bateman in 58th.

Somerset Christian finished in fifth place as a team, led by junior Issac Edens in 30th place with a time of 19:41.62 and seventh grader James Hardy in 47th with a time of 20:47.85. Other finishers for the Cougars included eighth grader Gavin Burke in 55th, junior Conrad Martin in 63rd, eighth grader AJ Roach in 72nd and freshman Liam Sexton in 78th.

Somerset finished in sixth, led by eighth grader Cameron Underwood in 36th with a time of 20:09.51 and junior John Lackey in 37th with a time of 20:12.60. Other finishers included eighth grader Tripp Hoseclaw in 60th, seventh grader Charlie House in 66th and senior Charlie Wilson in 70th.

Pulaski was led by junior Logan Stamper in 19th place with a time of 18:51.30. Other finishers for the Maroons included junior Landon Stevens in 42nd, sophomore Matthew Wright in 50th and sophomore Tristan Louthen in 76th.

Southwestern finished third in the girls' middle school race, led by seventh grader Savannah Jones' second place finish with a time of 13:43.56 and seventh grader Brylee Troxtle in fifth place with a time of 14:01.50. Other finishers included seventh grader Kendrick Jones in 10th place, sixth grader Kaydence Simpson in 25th, sixth grader Aveah Phelps in 26th.

Somerset was led by seventh grader Julia Poynter in 11th place with a time of 14:59.33 and seventh grader Jocelyn Poynter in 12th place with a time of 15:03.30. Seventh grader Ansley Poynter finished in 28th and seventh grader Anni Edwards finished in 35th.

Pulaski was led by eighth grader Ashton Gracey in 14th place with a time of 15:06.32. Eighth grader Naomi Crockett finished in 22nd and eighth grader Kenzi Sheffield finished in 34th.

Pulaski won the middle school boys' race, led by eight grader Carter Heist and his fifth place finish in a time of 12:10.63. Other finishers for the Maroons included seventh graders Tristan and Tucker Langford in sixth and seventh place respectively, sixth grader Finn Baird in eighth place, seventh grader Jasper Pace in ninth place, eighth grader Eyan Hutchinson in 16th place, sixth grader Britain Cotton in 26th, seventh grader Sam Furr in 31st, eighth grader Jo Brown-Hartwell in 32nd, seventh grader Isaac Murray in 40th and eighth grader James Furr in 42nd.

Southwestern finished in third in the race, led by eighth grader Kaden Jackson in fourth place with a time of 11:46.80. Other finishers for the Warriors included seventh grader Mason Reynolds in 12th, seventh grader Carson Cox in 27th, eighth grader David Cole in 28th, seventh grader Carter Hansford in 33rd, seventh grader Conner Dixon in 34th and seventh grader John Stennett in 38th.

Other local finishers in that race were Somerset Christian seventh grader Aaren Hartman in 11th, Somerset seventh grader Luke Burnett in 44th and Somerset Christian seventh grader Samuel Guerrero in 47th.

In the girls' elementary race, Somerset Christian took first place, led by sixth grader Claire Hardy who finished in first place with a time of 8:17.55. Other finishers for the Cougars included fifth grader Brentlee Davis in third place, fourth grader Rachel Hardy in fourth, sixth grader Samarah Handlos in fifth, second grader Desiree Ruiru in ninth, fifth grader Skye Ruiru in 10th, fifth grader Kyra Nichols in 13th and fourth grader Sophie Belwood in 17th.

Southwestern came in sixth place, led by fourth grader Emjay Ping in sixth place with a time of 8:51.27. Other finishers for the Warriors included fifth grader Aden Ping in seventh, fifth grader Rachel Jones in 12th, fifth grader Lauren McElroy in 18th, first grader Everleigh Bingham in 32nd and second grader Morgan McElroy in 33rd.

Pulaski finished fifth, led by third grader Adlee Whitis in 14th place with a time of 9:41.76. Other finishers for the Maroons included fourth grader Paisley Cox in 26th, fifth grader Ava Wheeler in 34th, fourth grader Dixie Evans in 45th and fourth grader Laikyn Johnson in 50th.

Somerset placed seventh, led by sixth grader Olivia Cheuvront in 11th with a time of 9:19.55. Other finishers for the Jumpers included third grader MK Hoseclaw in 74th and third grader Cora Speaks in 80th.

In the boys' elementary race, Southwestern took home first place, led by fifth grader Evan Lockard's second place finish with a time of 7:36.93. Other finishers included third grader Liam VanHook in third, fifth grader Ashton Lockard in fourth, fourth grader Tripp Phelps in fifth, sixth grader Raylen Adkins in seventh and fifth grader Keelan Roll in 11th.

Somerset finished in second place, led by the first place finish of fourth grader Wilson Gehring in a time of 7:28.31. Other finishers included fourth grader Hank House in 12th, sixth grader Porter Hoseclaw in 14th, fifth grader Parker Gehring in 18th and fourth grader Jack Burnett in 19th.

Someset Christian finished in third place, led by sixth grader Cameron Webb's eighth-place finish in a time of 8:17.26. Other finishers included fourth grader George Wurth in 10th, fifth grader Carter Cundiff in 13th, sixth grader Alexander Sadler in 15th and fifth grader Deacon Simpson in 22nd.

Pulaski finished in fifth place as a team, led by fifth grader Tenzin Adcock in 17th place with a time of 8:53.85. Other finishers included fifth grader Caleb Evans in 23rd, third grader EJ Hutchinson in 28th, second grader Levi Cash in 36th and first grader Samuel Wheeler in 65th.
