Seventy-First football’s Anthony Quinn transferring to school in Georgia

Seventy-First football’s Anthony Quinn, one of the top running backs in North Carolina, is transferring to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in Georgia.

Quinn, a senior, announced his departure from Fayetteville in a Twitter post on Wednesday morning. He helped the Falcons win back-to-back championships in the United 8 Conference with a combined record of 26-2 in the last two seasons.

The 2021 Best of 910Preps Offensive Player of the Year, Quinn had 5,069 rushing yards and 66 touchdowns in three seasons at Seventy-First.

He had 2,450 rushing yards and 31 total touchdowns in 15 games as a junior. Seventy-First was 14-1 in 2022 and advanced to the NCHSAA 3A East Regional championship.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound running back has received interest from several Division I programs, including Howard, Temple, NC Central and NC State.

Quinn joins a Rabun Gap program that competes in the NCISAA as part of the Big South Region. Providence Day, Charlotte Christian and Charlotte Latin are among the schools that compete against the Eagles.
