Seven Division I boys basketball games were on tap on Tuesday night.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Division I

Classical 77, East Providence 60

The Purple used a big second half to overcome a one-point deficit and stop the Townies. Azzy Harrison hit for a game-high 29 points as Classical turned around a 31-30 game. Eliezer Delbrey and Abdul Evans each chipped in 13 points for the Purple (14-0). Tyler Gomez and Levi Jacobs shared the scoring lead for East Providence (7-6) with 14 points apiece.

Hendricken 62, Smithfield 40

The Hawks led by just two points at the break but controlled the final two quarters to pull away from the Sentinels. Christian Butera fronted a balanced attack with 13 points and James Caldarella added 12 for Hendricken (10-3), which broke open a 21-19 game. CJ Blakely shared game-high scoring honors for Smithfield (5-6) with 13 points.

Portsmouth 70, Central 46 

Kyle Bielawa piled up a game-high 30 points as Portsmouth raced past Central and won its fifth straight league game. Bielawa connected on seven of his team’s 10 3-pointers and Adam Conheeny added 15 points for the Patriots (8-5). Jermaine Colon led the Knights (3-10) with 12 points.

Cumberland 57, Mount Pleasant 44

Luke Plumer's 21 points, along with 14 from Joe Parenteau and 10 each from Ben Jahnz and Hunter Zancan lifted the Clippers into the win column. Jayden Anson had 10 points for the Kilties, now 5-8. Cumberland improves to 8-4.

Narragansett 53, Woonsocket 30

Aidan Clancey's 16 points led all scorers and propelled the Mariners to victory. They improve to 5-8. Aaron Kelly and Angel Hernandez each had 10 points for the Villa Novans, now 1-11.

Barrington 89, Cranston East 45

Eleven different players hit the scoresheet — four in double figures — as the Eagles doubled-up the Thunderbolts. Nick Scandura topped Barrington (11-1) with 24 points while Matt Raffa finished with 14. Al Kesse led all scorers for Cranston East (2-11) with 26 points.

La Salle 61, North Kingstown 34

Rex Zadrozny had 17 points and 15 rebounds and Nick Tarro added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the Rams (11-1). The Skippers fall to 5-8.

Division II

Lincoln 86, Pilgrim 55

The Lions rode the three-headed monster of Wayne McNamara, Cam DiChiara and Ace Cote to this league victory against the Patriots. McNamara hit for a game-high 23 points, DiChiara added 21 and Cote knocked down six 3-pointers as part of his 20 for Lincoln (11-0). Carter Clifton netted 16 points and Dylan Vale added 12 for Pilgrim (7-5).

South Kingstown 73, Middletown 52

Jordan Chaloux poured in 26 points, including 4 treys, and teammates Jeff Burns missed a double-double by a point (9 points, 12 rebounds) and Jonah Monnes scored a dozen points as the Rebels improved to 9-4 in league play with a win over the Islanders. For Middletown, Roberto Figueras had 16 points and Patrick Cranson and RJ Wiggins each had 10 points each in the loss.

Chariho 67, Toll Gate 59 

The Chargers found enough offensive punch to push past the Titans. Owen Apice hit for 27 points, Brendan Gleason added 11 and Mason Cadiba collected a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds for Chariho (4-8). Brayden Healey led three in double figures for Toll Gate (2-11) with 25 points.

St. Raphael 59, Burrillville 30

The balanced scoring of Jay-Den Matos (16 points), Zerek Johnson (14) and Addison Hazziez (14) proved to be too much and the Saints, now 11-1, rolled to a convincing victory. Logan Gelinas had 15 points for the Broncos, whose record slips to 10-3.

Division III

Mount St. Charles 64, St. Patrick 36

Peter Burke finished with 16 points and eight other teammates also got on the scoresheet as the Mounties cruised to the seventh win in 12 games. Steph Lora had 13 for the Padres, now 2-11.

Prout 48, Highlander Charter 38 

The Crusaders used a strong finish to pull away from the Hawks. Lawson O’Hearn led all scorers with 18 points and Ryan Antonucci added 14 for Prout (5-6). Fabihan Jimenez sparked Highlander (3-9) with 15 points.

Central Falls 49, North Smithfield 45 (OT)

The Warriors won their ninth straight in league play and handed the Northmen just their second defeat in an overtime thriller. Jamilson DePina pumped in 12 of his 16 points and Moises Maldonado hit for 10 of his 13 points in the opening half, as Central Falls (10-2) enjoyed a quick start. Carter Deslauriers led all scorers with 19 points and Anthony Paiva added 12 for North Smithfield (11-2).

Juanita Sanchez 64, Blackstone Valley 59

The Cavaliers came alive in the second half to rally past the Pride in a matchup of league contenders. Taurean Williams netted 13 of his 16 points, Robert Robinson Jr. chipped in seven of his 11 points and Orlando Torres scored all eight of his points after the break for Juanita Sanchez (12-1). Ethan Sou and Juan Bedoya did most of the heavy lifting for Blackstone Valley Prep (7-4), finishing with 27 and 23 points, respectively.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Division I

Cumberland 58, Mount Pleasant 25

Bridgitt Van Etten scored 15 points and Allie Casavant chipped in 11 as the Clippers improved to 8-6. Ameera Quinones had 9 points on three 3-pointers for the Kilties as they fell to 0-13.

Division IV

Davies 51, Block Island 37

Maddie Belanger and Aniyah Gomes each posted a double-double as Davies cruised past Block Island. Belanger collected 20 points and 13 rebounds while Gomes added 17 points and 11 boards for the Patriots (8-1). Bailey Payne and Cora Ryan combined for 20 points to pace the Hurricanes (1-6).

BOYS SWIMMING

Rogers 34, Smithfield 6

The Vikings' Nick Bodycoat captured first place in both the 200 free (2:02.05) and 100 butterfly (59.9) and teammate Zeke Wolfskehl was first in the 50 free (31.91), and 100 free (1:14.17) and both swimmers were on the winning 200 medley relay (2:20.60) and 200 free relay (2:04.38) teams.
