The Times-Delta/Advance-Register will recognize Tulare County's top high school sports performers on a weekly basis this school year.
Coaches, please submit your results/top performers after each game, match or meet to sports reporter Vongni Yang at vyang2@gannett.com to have players highlighted.

Dec. 7
Boys basketball
Malachi Ficher, Tulare Western: Ficher exploded for 30 points to lead the Mustangs to a 72-55 win over Righetti-Santa Maria. Tulare Western pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Righetti 18-9.
Kaine Garcia, Tulare Western: Garcia dropped 17 points.
Jaydon Henningham, Tulare Western: Henningham had 10 points.
Israel Briggs, Mt. Whitney: Briggs canned a team-high 18 points and 18 rebounds as the Pioneers outlasted Mission Oak 61-60.
Josiah Simmons, Mt. Whitney: Simmons dropped 16 points.
John Applewhite, Mt. Whitney: Applewhite added 10 points.
Matt Townsend, Mt. Whitney: Townsend racked up 10 points.
Ricardo Reyes, Mission Oak: Reyes scored a team-best 17 points.
Levi Jimenez, Mission Oak: Jimenez added 18 points.
Xavier Munoz, Mission Oak: Munoz had nine points.
Girls basketball
Danae Banuelos, Golden West: Banuelos joined the 1,000-point club, scoring a career-high 43 points to direct the Trailblazers to a 62-34 win over Cesar Chavez. She entered the game needing just 11 points to hit the four-digit mark and accomplished that in the first quarter with a minute and 10 left in that frame.
Dec. 6
Boys basketball
Malachi Ficher, Tulare Western: Ficher erupted for 32 points as the Mustangs routed Chavez 87-56. Tulare Western outscored Chavez 57-26 in the second half. Eleven different players scored at least one point in the victory.
Kaine Garcia, Tulare Western: Garcia had 12 points.
Jaydon Henningham, Tulare Western: Henningham added 18 points.
Gabe Gallegos, Tulare Western: Gallegos contributed 7 points.

Girls soccer
Roxy Bahr, Redwood: Bahr scored two goals to help the Rangers top Tulare Western 3-1.
Graycie Serpa, Redwood: Serpa also found the back of the net.
Ellie Gilbert, Redwood: Gilbert had an assist.
Lainey Rowe, Redwood: Rowe dished an assist.
Emmah Garcia, Redwood: Garcia fired an assist.
McKenzie Valasquez, Redwood: Velasquez, a goalie, had three saves.

Girls basketball
Braelyn Serpa, Mission Oak: Serpa delivered 16 points as the Hawks downed Redwood 57-41.
Isabella Zepeda, Mission Oak: Zepeda recorded 13 points.
Aiyana Murray, Mission Oak: Murray dropped 11 points.
Sierra Calantas, Mission Oak: Calantas had 10 points.
Aryel Chavez, Redwood: Chavez registered 11 points, eight rebounds, an assist, a block, five steals and three pass deflections.
Brooklyn Tayo, Redwood: Tayo added eight points, four rebounds, four assists, a block, four steals and a pair of pass deflections.
Emma Vargas, Redwood: Vargas finished with four points, four rebounds, three assists, seven steals and took a charge.
Evonie Mendoza, Summit Charter: The sophomore had 30 points, seven steals and three assists as the Bears beat Granite Hills 44-26.
Boys basketball
Zander Jensen, Redwood: Jensen scored a team-high 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, as the Rangers defeated Mission Oak 70-53. He is the son of College of the Sequoias head men's basketball coach Dallas Jensen.
Evan Galley, Redwood: Galley added 12 points.
Elijah Casas, Redwood: Casas had 10 points.
Cole Gilcrest, Redwood: Gilcrest chipped in nine points.
Isaac Esquivel, Redwood: Esquivel tossed eight points.

Girls basketball
Brooklyn Tayo, Redwood: Tayo scored a team-best 12 points to lead the Rangers to a 55-51 win over Sanger. She also had three rebounds, an assist and seven steals.
Aryel Chavez, Redwood: Chavez netted 11 points with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Emma Vargas, Redwood: Vargas had 10 points, five rebounds, an assist, seven steals and a block.
Ahriel Madden, Redwood: Madden added eight points, five rebounds and a block.
Isabella Zepeda, Mission Oak: Zepeda finished with 19 points to spark the Hawks to a 62-23 victory against Hanford West.
Phoenix Ryan, Mission Oak: Ryan racked up 11 points.
Braelyn Serpa, Mission Oak: Serpa had 10 points.
Aiyana Murray, Mission Oak: Murray contributed six points.
Sierra Calantas, Mission Oak: Calantas had five points.

Kamryn Westra, Central Valley Christian: Westra delivered a double-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and two assists as the Cavaliers defeated Fresno Christian 63-21.
Avery Hiemstra, CVC: Hiemstra had 15 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Ally Lane, CVC: Lane chipped in 14 points, six boards and two steals.
Kate Verhoeven, CVC: Verhoeven added eight points and 17 rebounds.
Sierra Calantas, Mission Oak: Calantas scored 21 points to drive the Hawks to a 62-42 win over Lindsay.
Isabella Zepeda, Mission Oak: Zepeda dropped 17

Jazmaine Stewart, Farmersville: Stewart turned in a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks to anchor the Aztecs to a 51-46 overtime win against Mendota.
Haylie Tassey, Farmersville: Tassey had 13 points and six rebounds. She scored the tying basket to force overtime.
Janessa Garza, Farmersville: Garza pitched in with 10 points, six rebounds and seven assists.
