See the incredible USA Today HSSA Play of the Year, by Oklahoma recruit Jaren Kanak
An amazing, bulldozing touchdown run by Jaren Kanak of Hays High School (Kansas) was named the national high school sports Play of the Year during the 2022 USA Today High School Sports Awards digital show on July 31.
The USA Today High School Sports Awards is the largest high school sports recognition program in the country. Over 800 athletes were honored and winners for 29 sports and other special awards were announced during the live show, which was hosted by former NFL tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Vernon Davis.
Kanak is a University of Oklahoma recruit. His run, which you can watch below, went for a touchdown.
Jones edged out two other finalists. The first was an incredible, game-winning soccer goal in double overtime by Diego Leon of Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. You can see that play below.
The other finalist was a super clutch, state-championship winning 3-pointer by Maci Neely of Cameron High School in West Virginia. The shot, which you can see below, was a buzzer beater.
