Here is a look at the Greater Lansing high school softball Dream Team and all-area selections.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Ada Bradford
▶ School: Leslie
▶ Accomplishments: The junior repeated as a Division 3 first team all-state selection and went 29-4 in the circle with 327 strikeouts and a 0.77 earned run average. Bradford batted .460 with 19 doubles, 10 home runs and 62 RBI while helping the Blackhawks capture GLAC, district and Greater Lansing Hall of Fame Softball Classic titles.
DREAM TEAM
Ashley Bila
▶ School: Laingsburg
▶ Accomplishments: The Central Michigan commit and junior shortstop earned honorable mention all-state honors in Division 3 after batting .525 with 10 doubles, four home runs and 25 RBI. She helped the Wolfpack to a season that included district and regional titles and a state semifinal appearance.
Tori Briggs
▶ School: Fowlerville
▶ Accomplishments: The junior and Central Michigan commit batted .559 with 14 doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 48 RBI. She stole 16 bases and scored 49 runs. Briggs also went 7-5 in the circle with 98 strikeouts and a 2.14 ERA.
Addyson Buchin
▶ School: Laingsburg
▶ Accomplishments: The sophomore went 35-6 and had a 1.50 earned run average. The honorable mention all-state selection struck out 268 and had eight shutouts. Buchin was also a threat at the plate and had 14 doubles, a home run and 49 RBI while batting .391.
Natalie Donaldson
▶ School: DeWitt
▶ Accomplishments: The sophomore was a Division 1 all-state selection and led the Panthers with a .574 average, five home runs and 25 stolen bases. Donaldson had 36 RBI and also went 11-2 in the circle with 135 strikeouts and a 2.72 earned run average while helping DeWitt to CAAC Blue and district titles and a runner-up finish at the Softball Classic.
Lily Federau
▶ School: Lakewood
▶ Accomplishments: The junior catcher was a Division 2 honorable mention all-state selection and batted .482 with 12 home runs. She helped the Vikings capture a district title.
Jalen Fossitt
▶ School: Leslie
▶ Accomplishments: The junior shortstop batted .478 with 25 doubles, two triples and three home runs and drove in 49 runs for the Blackhawks, who won the Greater Lansing Hall of Fame Softball Classic and GLAC and Division 3 district titles.
Jaiden Griffith
▶ School: Williamston
▶ Accomplishments: The second baseman was a Division 2 honorable mention all-state selection and hit .620 with five doubles, seven triples and seven home runs and stole 32 bases for the Hornets, who finished tied for second in the CAAC Red.
Avery Koenigsknecht
▶ School: Fowler
▶ Accomplishments: Koenigsknecht was an honorable mention all-state selection in Division 4 for Fowler, which reached the state quarterfinals and finished as the CMAC runner-up. She hit .444 with five home runs, 43 RBI and 43 runs.
Hailey Kruizenga
▶ School: Mason
▶ Accomplishments: The junior shortstop hit .594 with seven doubles, 12 triples, eight home runs and 54 RBI. She scored 41 runs and stole 21 bases.
Aliya McFadden
▶ School: Holt
▶ Accomplishments: The senior infielder drove in 26 runs, scored 43 runs and had 11 doubles, a triple and a home run for the CAAC Blue runner-up Rams.
Rylee Scheurer
▶ School: Portland St. Patrick
▶ Accomplishments: The junior was a Division 4 first team all-state selection and ended the season with a .742 batting average. Scheurer finished with eight doubles, two triples, 31 RBI and stole 36 bases.
Kyra Shadduck
▶ School: DeWitt
▶ Accomplishments: The senior went 16-8 in the circle, struck out 230 and had a 1.43 ERA. The Lansing Community College commit batted .480 with four home runs and 53 RBI.
Lettie Sutton
▶ School: Waverly
▶ Accomplishments: The catcher and Division 2 all-region selection hit .487 with 13 home runs and had 60 RBI and 20 stolen bases for the Warriors, who captured their first district title in program history.
Gabby Waldofsky
▶ School: Leslie
▶ Accomplishments: The junior outfielder and Division 3 first team all-state selection batted .532 and scored 52 runs and stole 25 bases. Waldofsky helped Leslie win the Greater Lansing Hall of Fame Softball Classic and claim league and district titles.
COACH: Jeff Cheadle, Laingsburg - Guided the Wolfpack to their second deepest tournament run in program history with a Division 3 state semifinal appearance.
