See it: Future Notre Dame quarterback pitches five-star defender

It’s one thing to be verbally committed to a school in college football these days.  It’s another to be an active recruiter for the rest of that school’s recruiting class.

Future Notre Dame quarterback C.J. Carr is certainly more than just committed and has no problem at all trying to bring more talent along with him to South Bend.  We’ve seen it in the past when he’s posted photos with other members of the recruiting class, including five-star wide receiver Cam Williams.

He’s now doing it to try and keep one of Notre Dame’s biggest 2024 targets home.  That is of course five-star defensive tackle Justin Scott.

Notre Dame has seemingly put their foot on the gas in terms of recruiting the Chicagoland area in recent months.  The aforementioned Williams is already committed and is a five-star wide receiver while Scott seemed close to committing at one point.  However, as things stand today it would appear the Irish have their work cut out to land him.

For as close to home as Notre Dame is for Scott, he’s certainly had a difficult time making it to South Bend with any regularity.  As key as his addition to the 2024 class would be, his actions make it seem like the Irish aren’t his top choice.

Stay tuned as I’d love to be wrong about this one.
