See all 6 Florida baseball home runs from record-breaking performance vs. LSU at CWS final
OMAHA, Neb. — Florida Gators baseball brought its bats to the College World Series in a very big way.
The Gators pounded out six home runs and scored a record 24 runs on a record-tying 23 hits in Game 2 of the best-of-three CWS finals against LSU on Saturday, taking advantage of a breezy day in historic fashion.
Florida (54-16) won 24-4 to even the series with LSU (53-17) at 1-all.
Ty Evans started the splurge, going yard in his first two at-bats — the first a solo shot and the second the first grand slam in CWS finals history. The Gators led 6-3 after Evans' slam.

You've never seen a slam like this.@GatorsBB's Ty Evans with a 51-degree launch angle!
No MLB homer has EVER left the yard with a launch angle of 51+ degrees, as measured by Statcast.

Wyatt Langford's sixth-inning homer plated three more runs to highlight his five-hit, six-RBI, two-double day and put the Gators up 11-3.

The next batter was Jac Caglianone. All he did was send one sailing out to right-center, giving the Gators back-to-back HRs as Caglianone his 32nd dinger of the season to tie the BBCOR record set by Texas’ Ivan Melendez in 2022.

Caglianone would get No. 33 for the record in the eighth inning, pushing a drive into the Gators' bullpen past right field to give Florida a 19-3 lead.

But Florida wasn't finished. In the top of the ninth, BT Riopelle hit a 435-foot bomb to give the Gators 20 runs and put an exclamation point on the greatest offensive outbursts the series has ever seen.
