Section V football: Scores, highlights from Week 2
It's Week 2 of Section V football.
Hilton, Fairport and University Prep all recorded impressive victories in their openers and will try to keep the momentum going with tough matchups tonight. Hilton and Fairport play against each other and University Prep hosts Canandaigua at Marina Auto Stadium. McQuaid and Pittsford face off in a rematch of last year's Class AA title game.

Brockport completes comeback over Brighton with double overtime victory
Brockport trailed by two scores late in the fourth quarter and pulled off the upset with a 26-20 victory. Brighton missed a field goal in the second overtime and quarterback Landon Scott scored on a 1-yard run for the winning touchdown. Scott had four rushing touchdowns spanning the fourth quarter and overtimes.
Robert Lowry scores winning touchdown in overtime for Hilton
Hilton running back has six touchdowns in two games, including a game-winner. Lowry scored on a 5-yard run in overtime to lift the Cadets to a 20-0 road win against Fairport. Hilton's defense got a fourth-down stop by breaking up a pass to take over on downs and set up the winning drive.

Brockport storms back against Brighton
Brockport trailed 13-0 late in the fourth quarter but came back to force overtime and scored in OT to take the lead. Quarterback Landon Scott ran in a 5-yard touchdown to pull the Blue Devils to within 13-6 with 2:21 left. Scott scored again send the game to overtime.
Scott ran in his third touchdown of the game on Brockport's first overtime possession for a 20-13 lead. Brighton got the ball at the 20-yard line with a chance to answer and tied it at 20.
Final score: Irondequoit 28, Wilson 2
Cam Freeman rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns and Myles Wynn added 66 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Eagles, who improved to 2-0. Serah Hall had 13 tackles and two sacks in the victory.
Final score: Greece Arcadia 39, Spencerport 38
Greece Arcadia improves to 2-0. Spencerport is 0-2.
Final score: Monroe 54, Honeoye Falls-Lima 6
Monroe is 1-0.
Final score: University Prep 27, Canandaigua 7
University Prep has beaten Aquinas and Canandaigua in back-to-back weeks to start the season.
Hilton and Fairport going to overtime
Four quarters wasn't enough to determine which team will improve to 2-0. Hilton and Fairport are tied at 14 heading into overtime. It's Hilton's first overtime game since 2009.
Final score: Batavia 33, Wayne 14
Brighton's Tyler Martinovich runs in another touchdown
Tyler Martinovich scored his second short touchdown of the game, this time a 1-yard run, to make it 13-0 against Brockport with 4:11 left in the third quarter.
Final score: McQuaid 28, Pittsford 0
Brockport makes second straight red zone pick
Brockport's defense is keeping it a one-score game against Brighton, which had second and goal at the 5-yard line and a 6-0 lead. Brockport linebacker Ryan Miller dove in the end zone to intercept a pass that was deflected.
Marcus Whitman/Bloomfield leads South Seneca/Romulus
Myles Prendergast scored on a quarterback sneak give Marcus Whitman/Bloomfield a 26-7 advantage.
Brockport gets red zone interception to keep it one-score game
Brockport defensive back Azay Odey came up with a huge pick. Brighton looked to add to its lead from the Brockport 7-yard line but Odey snared a deflected pass at the goal line and returned it 11 yards.

Robert Lowry strikes again with 48-yard TD run for Hilton
Running back Robert Lowry has scored all five touchdowns this season. His most recent highlight was a 48-yard TD run to tie the game at 14 against Fairport. Lowry sprinted through the middle of the field, angled right and then spun through three Fairport defenders as he crossed the goal line.

University Prep scores on opening drive of second half
University Prep running back C.J. Robinson Jr. scored on a 10-yard run to give the Griffins a 13-7 lead over Canandaigua in the third quarter.
Webster Schroeder offense humming again
Drew Hilfiker has three touchdown passes, including two to Gavin Horton, and Webster Schroeder leads Eastridge 21-8 at halftime. Hilfiker has seven touchdown passes through six quarters this year. It's Horton's second straight game with two touchdown receptions.
Fairport leads Hilton in another upset bid
Fairport upset Penfield in Week 1. It's trying to take down a reigning Section V champion in Week 2. The Red Raiders lead Hilton 14-7 with 1:35 left at halftime.
Brighton leads Brockport 6-0
Brighton quarterback Tyler Martinovich threw two TDs last week. He's doing damage with his legs tonight. Martinovich scored on a 3-yard run to put Brighton up 6-0 against Brockport.

Batavia scored on final play of second quarter
Batavia took the lead as time expired in the second quarter in a seesaw game against Wayne. Bronx Buchholz fired a 9-yard touchdown to Carter Mullen on a slant for the touchdown. Batavia converted the two-point conversion with some trickery on a wide receiver pass for a 20-14 lead going into halftime. Buchholtz was out of the shotgun and threw a backward pass to Cole Grazioplene, who lofted a pass to Mullen in the back of the end zone.
Classic back and forth battle brewing between Batavia and visiting Wayne. Blue Devils regain the lead at 20-14 with time expiring in the first half. Here’s a video recap.

Canandaigua ties it up against University Prep
Sam Clark scored to even the score at 7 for Canandaigua.
Wayne gets pick six to go up 14-12 against Batavia
Batavia had the lead and the ball with just more than two minutes left before halftime. Wayne managed to take the lead anyway. Eagles linebacker Elijah Mackey picked off a screen pass and returned it 15 yards for a touchdown. Wayne took the lead on a two-point conversion trick play. Michael Prentice lined up as a kicker, took the direct snap and took off running, reaching for the left pylon for the successful conversion.
University Prep takes 7-0 lead against Canandaigua
Tavion Byrd to Tyrell Simmons. It's going to happen a lot this season. The two hooked up for a first-quarter touchdown to put University Prep ahead 7-0 against Canandaigua. The tandem connected for two touchdown passes last week.
Canandaigua has won four straight Section V Class A titles. University Prep is in Class AA and coming off an impressive 33-7 victory over Aquinas.

Robert Lowry reverses field for Hilton touchdown
Robert Lowry is at it again. Lowry evaded the entire Fairport defense for a touchdown to put Hilton up 7-0 against Fairport. Lowry took a carry off right tackle, appeared to be bottled up, reversed field and sprinted around the left side for an 11-yard TD run.
Lowry accounted for all of Hilton's touchdowns with a 207-yard, three-touchdown performance in Week 1.

Hilton's defense comes up with huge turnover
Hilton's John DiBattisto made an interception and returned it to the Fairport 11-yard line with 5:45 remaining in the first quarter. The game is tied at zero.
Batavia regains lead against Wayne
Bronx Buchholz took a quarterback keeper 7 yards on first-and-goal for Batavia, which leads 12-6.
Wayne ties game against Batavia with touchdown pass
Senior wide receiver Tyler Mudge corralled a deflected pass from Alexander Garrow for a touchdown for Wayne to even the score at 6-6. The drive was aided by an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against Batavia.
Webster Schroeder scores first with touchdown pass against Eastridge
Senior quarterback Drew Hilfiker picked up where he left off for Webster Schroeder. Hilfiker threw a nice ball near the pylon for Gavin Horton, who made a diving 14-yard touchdown catch. The Warriors lead 7-0.

Batavia scores first against Wayne
Batavia reached the end zone on its second possession of the game. Quarterback Bronx Buchholz was accurate on the drive, connecting with wide receiver Cole Grazioplene for a 17-yard touchdown pass with four seconds left in the first quarter. The extra point try was no good and the Blue Devils lead 6-0.
Newark running back Mosses Jamesville-Dewitt defender for touchdown catch
Check out this incredible touchdown catch by Newark/Marion running back Kellen Foster. Quarterback Alex Bernardi aired it out for Foster, who outleaped a defender and got a foot down in the back corner of the end zone.
