Sean McVay expects Darrell Henderson to play vs. Cardinals but still isn’t 100% sure

Darrell Henderson Jr. missed Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers due to a rib injury suffered in Week 2, but he’s already nearing his return to the field. Sean McVay said after the Rams’ walk-through on Wednesday that he expects Henderson to play against the Cardinals this weekend.

McVay didn’t say with 100% certainty that the running back will play, but everything seems to be pointing to him returning to the Rams’ backfield on Sunday.

“I think he’s going to,” McVay said. “I feel good about it. We’re going to be a little bit more modified in our approach this afternoon but he had a good look in his eye. He took part in the walk-through just now so the expectation and anticipation is that he’ll play, but not 100% sure on that.”

Henderson participated in the walk-through but his participation level in the afternoon practice won’t be known until the Rams release their first injury report of the week. Expect him to at least be limited as the team gives him more time to heal before playing on Sunday.

In two games so far, Henderson has 123 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. Sony Michel filled in for him against the Bucs and rushed for 67 yards on three attempts.
