Seahawks elevate 2 players from practice squad, place 1 on IR

The Seattle Seahawks have announced a trio roster moves with just hours to go before their Week 1 matchup with the Denver Broncos.

Here are the changes they have made heading into tonight’s game.

Nobody thinks about the long snapper until they need one. Seattle had to make a move this week due to a shoulder injury to Tyler Ott during practice which might require surgery. With Ott out they signed Carson Tinker to the practice squad. He’s been elevated for tonight and has appeared in 78 career NFL games, mostly with Jacksonville.

The Seahawks also elevated linebacker Tanner Muse to the active roster for game day. Muse made the same move several times late last season. He appeared in six games in 2021, seeing the field only on special teams. Expect to see that same arrangement continue unless either Jordyn Brooks or Cody Barton get injured.

Placed on injured reserve: OLB Alton Robinson

Seattle also announced that outside linebacker Alton Robinson has been placed on the injured reserve list. Robinson suffered a knee injury in his team’s final preseason game and had already been ruled out after missing practice throughout the week. Under the league’s new IR rules, Robinson must sit out at least the next four games.
