MARYSVILLE — Starting this fall, the pitch at Skippers Soccer Field at Morton Park will see an uptick in activity.

St. Clair County Community College is adding a men's soccer team to its athletics program, the school announced Thursday in a press release. The team will launch in time for the 2024-25 academic year.

"We are happy to announce the addition of men’s soccer to our athletic department," SC4 athletic director Dale Vos said in the release. "Our women’s soccer program has continued to grow and we are confident the new men’s program will be an outstanding opportunity for those wanting to play at the college level. SC4 looks forward to welcoming new student-athletes from our service area and beyond, including international students.”

SC4 is currently accepting applications for both a head coach and an assistant coach. Those interested can visit www.sc4.edu/jobs. The postings will remain open until they're filled.

Students interested in joining the men's soccer team should call the school's athletic department at (810) 989-5662.
