SB Cubs begin month of May with another six-game homestand

The South Bend Cubs will stay home for another week and they get set to host the Cedar Rapids Kernels for a second consecutive homestand at Four Winds Field in Midwest League High A minor league baseball.

The Cubs (13-8) will begin the six-game homestand against the Kernels (9-11) beginning Tuesday night at 6:05 p.m. Tickets start at $14. South Bend is a Chicago Cubs affiliate and Cedar Rapids is an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.

Game-by-game promotions for the 2023 South Bend Cubs schedule

Tuesday is Tail Waggin Tuesday, where fans can bring their dogs to the park. Tuesday also has special priced ticketing. Fans can purchase a game ticket, hot dog and soda for $13. Those tickets must be purchased 24 hours in advance.

Wednesday's game will have an early 11:05 a.m. start.

Then its Thirsty Thursday (7:05) when fans can enjoy $2 sodas and domestic draft beer.

Friday (7:05) is fireworks night.

Saturday (4:05) is Spin to Win Saturday where nine contestants can spin a wheel for prizes.

Sunday Funday (2:05) will include Pink Shirt Giveaway. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receives a South Bend Cubs pink shirt. There will be a pre-game autograph session and opportunites to play catch on the field pre-game.

Opening night at Four Winds Field hits all the right notes for South Bend Cubs

The Cubs completed a homestand Sunday against the Peoria Chiefs with a 7-4 victory. South Bend won the series, 4-2.

Haydn McGeary continues to lead the Cubs with a .368 batting average. The first baseman has 28 hits with eight doubles, three home runs and 13 RBI in 20 games. Center fielder Kevin Alcantara is batting .256 with 20 hits, including six doubles and three home runs for 11 RBI. Fabian Pertuz (.254) had 17 hits, with two doubles, a triple and a home run, for 11 RBI.
