Bravehearts 5, Brockton 1; Bravehearts 2, Brockton 1: Griffin O'Connor and Champ Davis combined on a four-hitter in the nightcap as host Worcester swept a doubleheader over the Rox at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field, extending its winning streak to six games. Andrew Chronister's sacrifice fly in the fifth scored Kobe Stenson with the winning run.

The Bravehearts (24-9) moved into a tie for first place in the league with the Vermont Lake Monsters, who lost, 5-2, to the Norwich Sea Unicorns on Saturday night.

In the opener, Dylan Vigue of Leominster allowed just one hit in six scoreless innings while striking out seven, lowering his ERA to 1.25. Jack Thorbahn hit his second homer of the season, a two-run shot.

Worcester's Tyler Bastunas was 3 for 6 over the two games, raising his batting average to .414.

American Legion

Leominster 5, Peabody 4: Jake Richard (3 for 3) rapped an RBI double in the fourth inning for the winning run, and Adam Bessette followed with three innings of one-hit shutout relief as Post 151 (11-4) won its second of the day at the Lowd/Ryan Invitational in Beverly. Leominster designated hitter Daniel Wright was 2 for 3 with an RBI double.

Leominster 8, Beverly 6: Earlier, Post 151 rallied for five runs in the sixth inning, then reliever Ryan Garner struck out the side in the seventh while picking up the victory over host Post 331. Ashton Malzahn (2 for 4, 4 RBIs) hit a three-run homer in the sixth to put Leominster ahead. Tony Salvatelli singled home two runs in the fourth.

Milford 10, Castle Rock (Colo.) 0: Colin Burchard struck out 10 while hurling a no-hitter as Post 59 (14-1) completed a two-win day at the Lowd/Ryan Invitational, improving to 3-0 on the weekend on the North Shore. Evan Cornelius went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, Andrew Denison was 3 for 3 with three runs, and Sean Anderson also drove in two.

Milford 4, Peabody 2: Tyler Caldon struck out 13 in six innings for Post 59, which tied the game with a run in the seventh and won its first game of the day with two in the ninth. Nick Koch, Jacob Smith (double) and T.J. Kiley had run-scoring hits for Milford.

Shrewsbury 6, Castle Rock (Colo.) 2: Tedy Cove pitched five strong innings for Post 397, and Pat McManus had two hits in the first win of the day at the Lowd/Ryan Invitational.

Shrewsbury 14, Marblehead 0: Brady Collins homered and drove in five runs for Post 397 (8-7), and teammate Andrew Peris added three hits.

Vernon Hill 6, Millbury 1: Riley Landry allowed just one hit while lifting the Pirates (7-8) to victory, and Dan Palmer hung tough on the mound for the host Merchants (5-10) in the league's final game of the regular season.

The league's double-elimination playoffs begin Thursday, when fifth-seeded Vernon Hill faces No. 2 Schwartz (10-5) at Tivnan Field, and No. 6 Millbury is against No. 7 South Side (1-14) at Hadwen Park, both games starting at 5:30 p.m.

The winner of Vernon Hill/Schwartz takes on the winner of No. 3 Douglas (8-7)/No. 4 Shrewsbury (7-8) on Friday at Soldiers Field, and the Millbury/South Side winner plays top-seeded Tatnuck (14-1) at Vernon Hill.

International League

Buffalo 4, WooSox 0: Ceddanne Rafaela, Daniel Palka and Stephen Scott collected the only hits for visiting Worcester (41-38), which dropped to 2-2 in the second half.

Central New England Association

Lunenburg 7, Shrewsbury 6: Ryan Wheet drove in two runs, and Dylan Sousa had two hits and an RBI for the host Phillies (7-6), who scored five runs in the sixth inning and held on to outlast the league-leading Dirt Dogs (12-5) at Marshall Park.
