BASEBALL

Hortonville 11, Antigo 1

HORTONVILLE - The Polar Bears scored two runs in the first inning and five in the second to take charge early in the six-inning nonconference win.

Camden Kuhnke was 4-for-4 and hit for the cycle, adding two RBIs and three runs scored, for Hortonville.

Ethan Peters pitched four innings to get the win. He allowed two hits, no runs and struck out four.

Neenah 6, Menasha 4

GRAND CHUTE - Trevor Stichman was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for the Rockets in the win over the Bluejays at Fox Cities Stadium.

Will St. Clair also had three hits, including a triple, and Payton Miller had two hits for Neenah.

Mack Krause pitched three innings for Neenah. He allowed no runs and struck out three.

St. Mary Catholic 4, Luxemburg-Casco 3

FOX CROSSING - The Zephyrs scored two runs in the third inning and two in the fifth to lead 4-0, then held off a three-run rally by the Spartans in the seventh inning for the nonconference win.

Aidan Birling had two hits and two RBIs for SMC. Owen Ripley hit a home run and drove in two runs.

Landon Derenne hit a three-run home run for Luxemburg-Casco.

Ripley was the winning pitcher. He pitched six innings, gave up five hits, three runs and struck out eight. Fisher Mackenzie finished the seventh inning for the save, allowing one hit and striking out two.

Appleton North 6, D.C. Everest 2

ROTHSCHILD - Brock Salm and Ben Tomassetti each drove in two runs for the Lightning in the win over the Evergreens.

Ryan Tesch picked up the win on the mound.

Appleton North 8, Eau Claire Memorial 6

ROTHSCHILD - Brock Salm was 4-for-4 with four runs scored and four stolen bases to power the Lightning to the win.

Ben Isom was 2-for-3, Ben Tomassetti was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Alex Ramus was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for North.

Ramus also pitched two innings to get the win.

Stevens Point 8-17, De Pere 1-4

STEVENS POINT - The Panthers swept the Redbirds in a nonconference doubleheader, winning 8-1 and 17-4.

SPASH, which is 19-1 overall, scored four runs in the first inning and three in the sixth in the first game. The Panthers had 11 hits.

Braylen Nystrom, Kale Roth and Devin Mrozek each had two hits for SPASH. Nystrom had a three-run home run, Mrozek had two RBIs and Roth hit a double. Ben Fonti also had a double.

Nystrom pitched six innings for the win. He allowed four hits, one run and struck out three. Jackson Fox pitched the final inning and struck out two.

Fox was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in the second game. Roth had a double and a triple and two RBIs, Nystrom had a double and three RBIs, Carl Biechler had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs, and Bennett Klish was 2-for-2. Fonti also had a double.

Ty Rechner was the winning pitcher. He pitched three innings, gave up three hits, two runs (zero earned) and struck out two.

Northland Pines Tournament

EAGLE RIVER - Wrightstown beat Northland Pines 6-1 in the first game then won the tournament with a 10-5 victory over Marathon.

Aiden Humphreys had three hits and drove in two runs for Wrightstown against Northland Pines. Quade Thompson added three hits, and Trevor Vande Hey and Jack Severson each had two hits. Jack Hermann also drove in two runs.

Humphreys was the winning pitcher. He went 6⅔ innings, allowed three hits and an unearned run. He struck out 10 and walked two.

Against Marathon, Trent Vande Hey was 3-for-4 with five RBIs, including a grand slam in the third inning.

Trevor Vande Hey also had three hits and Thompson had two hits.

Tyler Underwood and True Thurs each had two hits and two RBIs for Marathon.

Hermann pitched a complete game for the win. He allowed nine hits, five earned runs and struck out three.

Mosinee 5, Kaukauna 2

MOSINEE - Mosinee scored four runs in the first inning in the nonconference win over the Ghosts.

Keagen Jirschele hit a home run to lead off the bottom of the first for Mosinee. Three consecutive doubles by Taylor Lemanski, Gavin Obremski and Davin Stoffel followed, then a fourth double in the inning by Sawyer Holtz capped Mosinee’s hot start.

Mosinee starting pitcher Garrett Shupe tossed six innings, struck out eight and walked zero. Lemanski pitched the final inning to earn the save, striking out one.

Mosinee is 19-2 overall on the season.

Mishicot 9, Crandon 3

SHIOCTON - Mishicot scored five runs in the second inning to take charge in the victory.

Kaden Kowalski was 3-for-3, including two doubles, and drove in two runs for Mishicot. Nolan Sand drove in two runs. Will Garceau added a double.

Sand was also the winning pitcher. He went six innings, gave up four hits, three runs (zero earned) and struck out eight.

Mishicot 7, Shiocton 3

SHIOCTON - Mishicot scored three runs in the fourth inning and added three in the sixth in the victory over the Chiefs.

Ashton Ayotte had two hits and drove in four runs. Brady Urbanek added two hits. Ayotte, Urbanek, Ben Griffey and Kaden Kowalski hit doubles for Mishicot.

Ethan Gnadt pitched six innings to get the win. He allowed six hits, three runs (one earned) and struck out four.

Coleman 10, Crivitz 1 (Friday)

CRIVITZ - The Cougars scored three runs in the third inning and four in the fourth to break open the game.

Logan Kurth had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs for Coleman. Will Bieber and Owen Kinziger each added two hits and an RBI.

Kurth pitched five innings for the win. He allowed three hits, one run and struck out nine. Brady Dufeck pitched two hitless innings in relief and struck out one.

Seth Sellen had a double and an RBI for Coleman.

SOFTBALL

Oshkosh West Triangular

OSHKOSH - The Wildcats beat Burlington 13-4 and edged Oak Creek 2-1 in their triangular wins.

The Wildcats had 15 hits, including three home runs, to beat Burlington. Brianna Bougie was 3-for-3 with a home run and a triple, Kadence Saladin was 2-for-4 with two home runs, Kathryn Bergin was 2-for-4 with two doubles, Colleen Fitzpatrick was 2-for-3 with a triple, and Alyana Sadowska was 2-for-2 for West.

Sadowska got the win in the circle. She scattered five hits and struck out four.

In the win over Oak Creek, Bougie allowed a run in the first inning but scattered five hits and struck out 12 for the win.

Braelee Jodarski hit a solo home run for West. Bougie hit a double and scored the go-ahead run on a hit to left-center by Emmy Reichenberger.

Laina Hammen, Jodarski and Bougie each had two hits.

Denmark 12, De Pere 7 (Friday)

DE PERE - The Vikings collected 13 hits and the Redbirds had 11 hits in the high-scoring game.

Olivia Ullman was 3-for-3 for Denmark, which scored six runs in the fifth inning.

Marissa Destache was 3-for-4 for De Pere.

Edgar 12, Neillsville 1 (Friday)

NEILLSVILLE - The Wildcats scored five runs in the third inning to take a 6-0 lead and cruised to the victory.

Morgan Streveler drove in three runs for Edgar. Jessica Mucha, Emery Borchardt and Libby Woller each had two RBIs. Woller, Makayla Wirkus and Taylor Lemmer each had two hits. Woller hit a double.

Wirkus pitched a complete game. She allowed three hits and struck out 12.

GIRLS SOCCER

Sheboygan North 6, Hartford 0

SHEBOYGAN - Libby Cleveland scored three goals for the Golden Raiders in the win.

Abby Reinl, Anna Fogle and Erica Herzog also scored.

North goalie Peyton Baker made one save.

Sheboygan North 2, Neenah 1

SHEBOYGAN - The Golden Raiders scored two goals in the second half in the win over the Rockets.

Abby Reinl and Libby Cleveland scored for North. Brielle Hamilton and Erica Herzog had assists.

Raiders goalie Peyton Baker made one save.

Sheboygan South 3, Hartford 0

SHEBOYGAN - Elizabeth Calixto scored twice and Alayna Lloyd had the other goal for Sheboygan South.

Ellie Daharsh and Emma Daharsh both had assists, while Lily Wamser had the shutout in goal for the Redwings.
