Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte county schools spring into football action with games
The 20 days of spring football practice allowed by the Florida High School Athletic Association is coming to a conclusion for all the teams in Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties with a spring classic game.
Most of the teams are playing games with a few participating in jamborees.

There is a jamboree Thursday at Bradenton Christian School involving Out-of-Door Academy, Oasis out of Cape Coral and the home Panthers. Saint Stephen's Episcopal was scheduled to participate, but dropped out and will not play a spring football classic. Most of the football staff will be in Jacksonville on Wednesday for the State Track and Field Championships.
Instead of playing at Sunlake High, Sarasota High now will participate in a jamboree 7 p.m. Thursday at Berkeley Prep in Tampa with Largo.
Cardinal Mooney Catholic and DeSoto County will play in a jamboree at Island Coast May 25 in Cape Coral.
Eight-man teams The Classical Academy of Sarasota and Lakeside Christian will play at Sarasota Christian School on May 20.
