San Angelo TLCA's Drew Sherrill voted Standard-Times Athlete of Week
San Angelo TLCA’s Drew Sherrill was voted the Standard-Times Athlete of the Week for his performance during games played Jan. 3-9, 2022.
The sophomore guard averaged 16.5 points and hit 5-of-7 free throws in two District 6-3A boys basketball games.
There were 1,294 votes cast in this week's voting, and Sherrill finished with 318.
Second place was San Angelo Central boys basketball player Chace Fields, who had 244 votes.
Other nominees were Robert Lee's Braylee Hood (girls basketball), San Angelo Cornerstone Christian's Payton White (boys basketball), Ballinger's Addison Martin (girls basketball), Veribest's Callie Briley (girls basketball) and Miles' Regan Smithwick (girls basketball).

The past winners of the week for the 2021-22 school year were Wall’s Tate Hughes (cross country), Wall’s Karagan Clare (volleyball), Wink’s Autumn Smith (volleyball and cross country), San Angelo Central's Jenna Vincent (team tennis), Central’s Emilee Sikora (volleyball), Sonora’s Abby Bennie (volleyball), San Angelo Cornerstone Christian’s Maddie Gossett (volleyball), Veribest’s Alliyah Harrison (volleyball and cross country) and San Angelo Central's Branden Campbell (boys basketball).
