Saints upgrade several starters on offense on Week 9 injury report vs. Bears

Here’s some good news: Thursday’s injury report has the New Orleans Saints upgrading several starters on offense on for Week 9’s game with the Chicago Bears, including wide receiver Michael Thomas (illness) and offensive lineman Andrus Peat (ankle). Backup receiver Lynn Bowden (illness) was also ramped up to full practice reps after being limited Wednesday.

The only other changes from Wednesday’s initial injury report are also illness-related. Free safety Marcus Maye was removed from the injury report altogether after practicing fully earlier in the week, but defensive tackle Malcolm Roach was absent on Thursday and we’ll have to see whether he can participate on Friday before the team can determine his game status. A virus has been making the rounds at the team facility in recent weeks and impacting many players and team personnel.
