Rutgers football is the first Big Ten offer for four-star Makai Byerson

Makai Byerson, a big-time pass rusher from Virginia, was offered this week by Rutgers football.

On Tuesday, Byerson tweeted about the offer from Rutgers football. He is a four-star in the 247Sports Composite. A class of 2024 prospect from Manchester High School (Midlothian, VA), Bryerson is the No. 7 player in his recruiting class in New Jersey.

He is also the No. 27 edge rusher nationally. At 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, Byerson has good length and wingspan to play Power Five football. He gets off the edge well and is active all along the line.

In terms of Power Five offers, Byerson holds offers from Duke, Tennessee and Virginia Tech as well as Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights are the first Big Ten offer for Byerson.

Prior to his Rutgers offer, Byerson was offered on Sept. 10 by Kentucky.

The offer list for Byerson will likely grow significantly as he continues his junior season.

Midlothian is 1-1 on the season. On Friday, they play Powhatan.
