It’s Friday, February 8, 2019, and Jared has everything you need to know about yesterday’s NBA trade deadline:

  • The Lakers made the biggest deadline headline by NOT making a trade. They were never able to pry Anthony Davis from the Pelicans, and now it seems as though New Orleans may have been toying with Los Angeles all along.

  • In the east, a couple contenders improved as the Raptors added Marc Gasol and the 76ers traded for Tobias Harris. In the west, the Mavs followed up acquiring Kristaps Porzingis by trading Harrison Barnes…DURING a game.

  • None of these trades will matter. That’s because the road to the championship still goes through Golden State. The rest of the NBA can trade for as many expiring contracts as they want. The Warriors are still head and shoulders better.
