The Rush: Henry and Hill dominate on the field and COVID continues wreaking havoc on NFL

Sports are back in full force with NCAA football and basketball, soccer and boxing, but the NFL continues to dominate headlines on and off the field. Derrick Henry, Tyreek Hill and Patrick Mahomes had monster games while the Buccaneers and Raiders had less than stellar performances. The 49ers and Patriots won with field goals as time expired, and several people’s jobs were terminated including coach Matt Patricia, who was fired by the Lions. PLUS: COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc on the NFL as dozens of Ravens players are sidelined while the Broncos were forced to elevate a wide receiver from its practice squad to start at quarterback with Denver’s actual QBs out because of COVID.

- Third and 10. Here is Rodgers with time, a whole bunch of it. End zone shot. Adams goes up and gets it. Touchdown, Green Bay!

JARED QUAY: From college football and basketball to soccer and boxing in the mix, sports are officially back, y'all. 2020 taking a turn. But man, COVID-19 is really messing sh[BLEEP] up, especially in the NFL. The Ravens-Steelers marquee Thanksgiving game is now being played on Tuesday because the Ravens roster be looking like--

- [INAUDIBLE]. Oh my god!

- [INAUDIBLE] down!

- Lord have mercy.

JARED QUAY: COVID's responsible for the Broncos starting a practice squad receiver at quarterback. No Broncos actual quarterbacks were available, so he played like a receiver would play, completing just one pass as the Saints beat them 31-3.

- Nasty. Was nasty.

JARED QUAY: You know what you can't blame on COVID, though?

- What's that?

JARED QUAY: The Chiefs had Tom Brady's number, picking him off twice, which makes it seven interceptions in four games

- Had to get rid of it. Look out. It's picked off.

JARED QUAY: On the flip side, Tyreek Hill lit the Buccaneers up. 269 receiving yards and three touchdowns as KC beat the Buccaneers 27-24.

- Touchdown and a leap.

JARED QUAY: Derrick Henry also made the 3 touchdowns in week 12 club. He went in on the Colts, rushing for 178 yards as the Titans took first place at the AFC side.

- Henry weaves through. Henry is in again. Touchdown!

JARED QUAY: In Atlanta, Derek Carr fumbled three times en route to the Raiders getting rolled by Atlanta, 43 to 6.

- Touchdown!

JARED QUAY: And both the Patriots and 49ers won by a margin of just 3 points, with both teams kicking field goals as time expired. Now, immediately after the Jags were beat by the Browns on Sunday, Jacksonville fired its GM, David Caldwell. Yeah, one in 10 ain't gonna cut it, unless you're the 0 and 11 Jets.

- That makes no sense!

JARED QUAY: It sure don't! But Caldwell isn't the only one that came up without a job this weekend. The Lions fired GM Bob Quinn and head coach Matt Patricia after Detroit got annihilated by the Texans on Thanksgiving Day. Lions fans were so happy to get rid of Patricia that some of them reportedly donated money to Texans' quarterback Deshaun Watson's foundation as a thank you gift for helping to push Pat out the door.

- [SCREAM]

JARED QUAY: Nothing screams holiday spirit more than you being happy for someone being fired, so you go donate to your rival's charity. I mean, it's still being money donated to charity, but at the same time, somebody I lost their job during a holiday. And it's cold in Detroit.
