Rookie Report: Warriors’ Brandin Podziemski records first career double-double vs. Suns

In a rough loss headlined by Draymond Green being ejected for hitting Jusuf Nurkic, Golden State Warriors rookie Brandin Podziemski provided a breath of fresh air against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.

While the Suns stole away the Warriors’ advantage in the second half and began to stretch a lead of their own, the Santa Clara product provided a much-needed spark off the bench for Steve Kerr’s rotation.

Podziemski helped fuel a late comeback against the Suns in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Although the Warriors’ couldn’t complete the comeback, the Warriors rookie notched his first career double-double.

Podziemski finished the game with 20 points off the bench on 9-of-14 shooting from the field to go along with 11 rebounds, five assists, and a steal in 29 minutes against the Suns.
