How Roman Josi surpassed David Legwand for Nashville Predators all-time points record

Roman Josi's go-ahead goal for the Nashville Predators on Wednesday night resulted in a tie.

Josi's score 1 minute, 27 seconds into the third period against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center pulled the Predators captain even with David Legwand at 566 career points, the most in franchise history. It also put his team ahead in what turned out to be a 4-2 victory.

Josi untied with Legwand later in the period, when he assisted on Thomas Novak's goal 6:09 into the period.

“It means a lot,” Josi told Bally Sports South after the game. “It’s something I never dreamed of.”

Matt Duchene also scored, his third consecutive game with a goal. Nino Niederreiter scored his 11th for Nashville, which won its second in a row to give the Blackhawks their eighth straight loss.

Josi surpassed Legwand as the franchise leader in assists last season. At 791, Josi is second behind Legwand (956) in games played in Predators history.
