Rockets at Hawks: Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

In the first game of the NBA’s 2022-23 regular season for both teams, the Houston Rockets visit the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at BetMGM.

The game starts at 6:30 p.m. Central and can be seen via AT&T SportsNet Southwest (in Houston markets) or on NBA League Pass.

The Hawks finished 43-39 and in the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference standings last season, while the Rockets were 20-62 and at the bottom of the West. But one source of optimism is growth and development by second-year guard Jalen Green, who scored a career-high 41 points versus Atlanta in last season’s finale at Houston.

Advice and prediction

Led by the backcourt of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, Atlanta is the better and more veteran team on paper. But Green and Kevin Porter Jr. can put up plenty of points for the Rockets, too, and the last meeting between the sides resulted in Green’s career night and a combined 244 points. We’ll take the over to cash here, as well.

Prediction: Hawks 121, Rockets 113
