Robert Russell claims another first at Ditto-Sapp Pro-Am

Sep. 22—Robert Russell, of Overland Park, Kansas, has another Ditto-Sapp title after turning in a 6-under 66 to claim first place at the Ditto-Sapp Pro-Am at Twin Hills last weekend.

Russell also has a 2020 title and is a member of the Joplin Golf Foundation Hall of Fame.

The annual Ditto-Sapp Pro-Am raises money for the foundation to support its junior golf program.

Ryan Dalton was one stroke back of Russell, with a 5-under 67.

John Richman was third with a 3-under 69.

Chris Thompson and Jeff Sedorcek tied for fourth with a 2-under 70 and Taylor Griffith was 1-under with a 71 for sixth place.

Brock Derrick was even at 72 for seventh place and Brian Daniels and Griff Locke tied for eighth place, each finishing 1-over at 73.

Missouri Southern State University golfer Trae McCrae teamed up with Card Sappington, Kevin Greim, Kent Eastman and Jay Mitchell to capture the team title with a 115 in the shamble format.

Kyle Long, Jeff Schilling, Greg Crawford, Brock Sapp and Brent Finley were one stroke back to capture runner-up honors with a 116.

Third place went to Russell, Bennie Crossland, Todd Stout, Bryce Benson and Curt Crossland at 120.

DJ Ransom, Brandon Osuch, Gentry Jones, James Nichols and Kevin Bourland turned in a 123 for fourth place.

Also posting a 123 and coming in fifth were Chris Thompson, Pat Crossland, Ron Simpson, Don Simpson and Bryan Simpson.

Sixth place went to the team of Taylor Griffith, Scott Miller, Chris Couch, Trey Butler and Chris Newby with a 124.
