The Republic's Top 10 Arizona high school baseball players for March 11-16; vote in poll

Last week provided a great platform during spring break with the Boras Classic the featured tournament. It was a tournament in which defending 6A champion Chandler Hamilton reasserted itself as the best team in Arizona.

Here is a look at The Arizona Republic's Top 10 players of the week for March 11-16. Coaches gave input. Vote for the top overall performer in our poll below.

Arizona high school baseball top 10 players of the week

1. Drew Rogers, Chandler Hamilton, C/RHP, Sr.

He went 9 for 12 with two doubles, four home runs and 10 RBIs leading Hamilton to its first Boras Classic championship.

2. Cam Caminiti, Scottsdale Saguaro, LHP/OF, Sr.

For the third straight week, he is among the top two players of the week. He was incredible on the mound in a 6-0 win over then-nationally ranked No. 6 Las Vegas Bishop Gorman in the first round, striking out nine and giving up one hit in five innings. During a 3-1 tournament showing, he was 6 for 9 at the plate, getting walked six times. He also hit two triples.

3. Boston Kellner, Hamilton, INF/RHP, Jr.

He was 9-for-15 with five home runs and seven RBIs and got the pitching win against Basic (Nevada) in the Boras Classic.

4. Liam Wilson, Hamilton, C/1B, Sr.

He was 7-for-13 with two doubles, four home runs and 10 RBIs in the Boras Classic.

5. David Rodriguez, Scottsdale Coronado, P, Sr.

He pitched 5⅔ inning in a loss, but it was the longest pitching stint in recent years for a Coronado pitcher. He is team captain and the Dons' utility player.

6. Lane Abel, Gilbert, P, So.

He pitched a seven-inning, no-hitter for the championship of the Bob Everett Classic.

7. Kade Thompson, Queen Creek Casteel, C, Sr.

He had three hits, including a three-run triple, that sparked Casteel's 10-4 win over Liberty in the first round of the Boras Classic

8. Jeremy Kuiper, Gilbert Christian, 1B, Sr.

He went 7-for-9 with two doubles, three home runs and seven RBIs with two of those homers coming against Northwest Christian ace Gunnar Penzkover, who has signed with Grand Canyon.

9. Payton Holinka, Gilbert Perry, RHP, Fr.

He was two outs away from pitching a perfect game in his first varsity start. He finished giving up one hit, one run and struck out five in seven innings.

10. Cody Rollings, Goodyear Estrella Foothills, RHP, Sr.

He is 5-0 with a 0.0 ERA on the season. He combined to one-hit Arcadia early in the year, and last week combined for a no-hitter against Williams. He went 2-0 in the Lancer Classic.
