The Boston Red Sox and shortstop Xander Bogaerts are finalizing a seven-year, $132 million contract extension, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports.

The 26-year-old was an All-Star in 2016 and is a two-time Silver Slugger award winner.

He earned MVP votes in last season’s World Series-winning season where he logged 23 home runs and 103 RBI while posting a .288/.360/.522 slash line with an OPS of .883.

Deal takes Bogaerts off market next offseason

Bogaerts was scheduled to be a free agent next offseason at the end of his current 1-year, $12 million deal.

The deal will include an opt-out, according to the report.
