Reports: Aaron Judge to return to Yankees lineup Friday after missing 2 months

Aaron Judge was in the New York Yankees clubhouse Thursday and will be activated from the injured list for Friday’s game against the Houston Astros, according to multiple reports.

The Yankees outfielder has been sidelined since suffering an oblique strain on April 20.

Prior to his injury, Judge was slashing .288/.404/.925 with five home runs and 11 RBIs through 20 games. He slashed .278/.392/.919 with 27 home runs and 67 RBIs in 112 games last season.

Yankees thrived in Judge’s absence

Despite Judge’s injury and a slew of other injured Yankees, New York remains in first place in the AL East at 46-27, 3.5 games ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays. They went 36-17 while Judge was on the injured list.

The Yankees’ prospects obviously only go up with the return of one of baseball’s best hitters.
