Report: Terry Pegula 'moving fast' on Bills buy, could 'happen overnight'

Just a few days ago, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula -- "far and away the leading contender to land the Bills" -- was "poised to handle the $1.1 billion to $1.4 billion expected price tag for the franchise."

On Monday night, the Buffalo News' Tim Graham reported significant progress for Pegula. Graham noted things are "moving fast" and could "happen overnight."

La Canfora reports it's expected to become official at the October owners meetings and that Pegula will "have no trouble getting voted in."

The two obstacles for Pegula outside of locking down the actual purchase: per La Canfora, "He will need to move around ownership of the Sabres and divest himself of the sports agency he owns."

Pegula's connection to the France All-Pro Sports Management sports agency could draw some attention: The agency in question reps the Bills' Marcell Dareus, Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe and former Ravens running back Ray Rice.
